This week at the Cooking at the Market Chef Demonstration series, Chef Brad from Croissants Bistro & Bakery cooked up an amazing shrimp & grits recipe with okra from the Farmers Market, peanuts and grape tomatoes. The okra combined with the peanuts gave this traditional Southern dish a unique flavor.

Ingredients
- Shrimp
- Grits
- Farmers Market Okra – cut on an angle
- Red Onion – Julianned
- Peanuts
- Grape Tomatos
- Fresh Thyme
- Olive Oil
- Fresh Garlic – minced and shaved
- Shallots – finely chopped
- Red Pepper flakes
- White wine
- Butter
Instructions
- GRITS
- Saute minced garlic, fresh thyme, and shallots in the Devo Olive Oil for 1 minute.
- Bring 4 cups of milk to a boil.
- Add 1 cup grits and reduce to a simmer, add salt and pepper, and stir occasionally for 20 minutes.
- SHRIMP, OKRA, TOMATO & PEANUTS
- Saute shaved garlic, red onion, okra, peanuts, shrimp, red pepper flakes and grape tomatos in Devo Olive Oil for approximately 7 minutes.
- Pour in white wine to taste and continue to sauté for another 5 – 8 minutes.
- Add 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Serve & enjoy!
